Remove an SVG background and keep the white details.

CleanVector finds a near-white shape that covers the whole canvas and removes only that. Smaller white shapes such as eyes, letters and highlights stay.

Runs in your browser. A draft is kept on this device for 24 hours.

Details

How it works

01

Detect the canvas

Color is only the first signal. The shape must also cover the complete viewBox within a conservative tolerance.

02

Compare

Toggle between the original and the cleaned file on checker, white, black or a custom color before downloading.

03

Keep the details

Smaller white letters, eyes, highlights and interior shapes stay because they do not span the canvas.

Limits

What this tool cannot do

  • Curved full-canvas paths are left unchanged so subject geometry is never deleted.
  • A background inside a complex group or transform may need manual editing.
  • Only near-white canvas candidates are considered in this version.
  • Masks, filters and clipping paths are not flattened.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why not delete every white path?

White often belongs to the subject. Removing by color alone can erase lettering, eyes, reflections and highlights.

Does the download cost a credit?

No. This tool runs locally. Signing in keeps your downloads together, but it does not spend credits or use your free SVG download.

Why was no background detected?

The file may already be transparent, use a non-white canvas, rely on a curved or transformed shape, or lack a usable viewBox.
